The Honeymooners

February 4, 2013 — 1 Comment

So folks we are off! We are leaving for our long-awaited honeymoon (we were married in September but waited until now to take our official honeymoon). I am so excited and cannot believe my dream to travel to Thailand is happening so soon. Being very girly one of my big concerns was choosing what I was going to wear in Thailand. We are technically “backpacking” so we do not have a lot of space for extras. We decided to go the backpack route as the husband has never backpacked before and we are travelling to many different cities all over Thailand in a short period of time. That being said, my options were limited. I am usually the girl who brings enough clothing for 7 days when we stay somewhere overnight, so you can imagine my dilemma when trying to pack for an 18 day vacation.

I read a few websites on packing light, as the last time I went backpacking was in 2002 and 2005 and I have no clue what I brought with me then. one particular travel blog I found was my saving grace: Travel Fashion Girl. It has so many tips from what to pack when visiting certain destinations, what beauty products are great for vacations, shopping tips and must-have accessories. They even did a post today on what to pack for your honeymoon! It really helped me figure out what should be on my packing list.

So here is what I bringing:

outfit2

-2 t-shirts

-3 tanks

-3 pairs of shorts

-1 belt

-1 long sleeve shirt and green cargos

-2 short sleeve blouses

-2 tank dresses

-1 maxi dress

-1 maxi skirt

-1 scarf

-2 pairs of sandals

And…

outfit

-5 bathing suit tops

-4 bathing suit bottoms

-leggings

-1 cardigan

-light weight hoodie

-1 beach maxi dress

-2 pairs of beach shorts

-1 messenger style day bag

-1 small purse

I also am bringing a pair of closed toe flats and of course underwear, bras, sunglasses. I opted not to bring running shoes because the sandals I bought are very comfortable and have great support – also the weather is going to be 30+ degrees. I will be on the hunt for a beach bag and a hat in Thailand. Additionally we are planning on buying a cheap suitcase while we are there to store any purchases we make to bring back home.

Now all that is left is to say goodbye to the puppies and pray the house/puppy sitters do not go mad from their antics while we are away. I am going to miss these faces.

Unfortunately I will not be blogging much while I am away but I will have lots to post when I get back. Have a great next few weeks and I will be back with a tan and a ton of photos!
